Well…tonight 2009 comes to a close. It’s been a strange year indeed, full of ups and down. Been keeping myself busy lately with work…and just downloaded Flash 8 today, so maybe I can learn to animate now ^^
Still trying to work things out and battle insomnia, but I’m doing okay. I’ll probably still do my yearly “The Good, The Bad, and The Other” new years post, buuuut….Zinni originally had this idea in her journal…I thought it was a lovely way to recognize close friends/watches, so with her permission I’m doing the same thing. ^^ You guys really are the best. A long time ago, Evs noted how I call my best friends the Elite. He suggested I call my close pod on here the Special Forces. :3 Most of them are part of my dA “family”, but here are my inductees into the S.F. XD
(Aka, Evan, Evs, ect)- A hearty warrior in his own right, Evs has been through a lot. He and Emma have the most amazing, model relationship for ANYONE who wants to pursue an online romance fully. I admire them greatly for achieving their dream. Evs is wonderfully supportive of his friends’ art, not to mention his own universe is greatly developed, sporting complex characters and timelines that leave you wanting to know more.
(aka, ‘Ju)- ‘Ju is one of the most kindhearted people I have ever met. An OOW brother/founder from way back, he is always the first to notice online when I am upset and offer reassuring words or hugs. He is constantly drawing and surprising us with new pictures, perspectives, and characters, so his gallery always brings something new. I can’t begin to say how grateful I am to have him as a member of the S.F.
(aka Ragey) Another OOW brother (and a founder) with an excellent sense of humor, Rage expands his creative prowess into several outlets, including action-packed art/comics, writing, voice acting, and music. He’s a loyal protector when it comes to stolen art. NOT to mention, as a computer special of sorts (I can’t remember which company), Ragey is always wonderful about prompt suggestions when I’m crying about computer problems. :3 He’s really a great guy.
(aka Mah Freddie)- is an awesome guy to have a conversation with. Among the last to join the OOW before it died. He’s constantly working to improve his comics, and brings a nice balance of humor and action to the table. He and I have gone through the transition of college “together”, and I’m so happy to say he’s doing well. I’ve watched him improve and grow, much like his OCs :3
(aka twinnie, mah twin bro, Fii) What an explosive style! Fii is a magician with colored pencils. He has a truly unique style that just grabs you by the shoulders and pulls you into the picture with bold colors and awesome poses. XD He’s very generous with his friends, and it’s great to have him back on dA.
(aka Solos? Needs a nickname) Among my newest of friends, Solos is such a sweetheart! An avid supporter of Roux (and saiyans in general), he always seems to know what to say to make me smile. He looks after his friends very well, and whether he knows it or not, has earned my feral loyalty if he’s ever attacked.
He’s also got some gorgeous eyes, that one… XP
(aka big bro, Ru, Tom)- My very, very first dA friend. Ru has been there from the start, noticing my art when no one else did. We’ve fought many battles together, including the lol-filled event I remember as “War of the Snow Day” in which he, Rage, and I fought off art thieves on Bebo that had stolen his signature character Lok, RageVX’s Rage, and Lugosi’s Arta. He’s a sweet guy that’s always good for a laugh, and “britishly educating” me. XD I hope he’s doing well. He gave me the reassurance that I COULD in fact make friends on this site
(aka Lu, Cherie) Lu is an excellent role model as one of my “big sisters” on dA. She’s an extremely talented tattoo artist, writer, and traditional artist of DBZ and elven characters. She’s a wonderfully guiding lady, strong in her faith and excellent at mentoring others. I love her OC Arta as one of the most convincing female saiyans ever. She weaves her OCs very well, keeping them as in-character as possible for the series. She’s always there for advice when I need it, and was one of the first to comfort me through the ordeal with Captain Feiron. I admire her greatly, and I hope I can be half the woman she is some day

(aka Sip) A man who juggles many things admirably, and still finds time for his passion of art. Sip has one of the most unique DBZ characters I’ve ever seen (Bartin) and has undertaken the wieldy project for Shenron High. His cast picture is a stunning work of effort…
29, count ‘em, TWENTY-NINE CHARACTERS. Now that’s dedication. Sip’s always great for advice, especially since we’re both going into the field of education. He’ll make a wonderful teacher, if he hasn’t already permanently.
(aka Zin, Marcy) This gal’s been through a lot on dA, but boy does she shine! An OOW sister, her art is always extremely colorful and well put together…the effort she puts into each piece is evidence in every part of it. No one could ever match her unique style, or her sweet
personality!
(aka TT, The Tactician) I could write pages on what TT means to me as a writer and an artist, though we’ve never met. Though sometimes a lurker, TT is not my first fan, but definitely my first mentor. She trailed me here from fanfiction.net, where she followed through my days of infancy in writing and instructing me along the way. A busy, and dare I say genius psychology major in either grad school or college, she always manages to appear when I need her most. I would not be half the writer I am today without her, her notes, and her wit. *beams* I owe her so much.
(aka lil bro, Joey) Another OOW brother who noticed me in my earliest day, lil bro’s always around to make me laugh, and introduced me into the world of Nobodies and Kingdom Hearts. ^^ His absence on dA is sorely felt, and I hope he’s having an amazing senior year
(aka Kagi, LinZ, Linzie) She and I have spoken many times about the phenomena of people who have almost the same name having similar ideas and personalities, but Kagi is my art idol. A lovely British gal, she’s got some amazingly versatile skills that have carried her far through an art university. Whether she knows it or not, it was actually from her that I gained the idea, and later a smidge of confidence, that I could go to school for art, even if it is just art education. Her style is unique in its demeanor and “roundess.” Even more amazing than her skill and endearing qualities as a friend are her characters, especially her species of Descendants. Seeing her work hard (and survive) in Uni makes me want to do the same. :3 Oh, and hunt land whales with her some day in England
(aka Rii, lil sis, Clare) I met Rii when I begged Joey to become the fourth superior of his new Organization club long, long ago. What started as some awkward teamwork and occasional RPing evolved into a fully fledged, extremely close friendship. I truly call her my little sister. I’ve never felt so close to someone I’ve never met. She is one of my closest confidants, and my heart soars to see her succeed and be happy. Her art has improved from when I first met her, always retaining (for the most part) a graceful innocence that I can never achieve. XP She has been there every second through my lows and through my highs, and I honestly do not know what I would do without her, the little sister I never had.
(aka Brockie, Kris) I was completely blown away by Brockie’s talent when I first ran across her gallery. Though she’s humble and will say otherwise, each picture of hers packs a powerful combination of impressive background and active figures. She’s always taking requests for her friends, and the antics of her favorite OC Harvey certainly make us all laugh. I’m honored to call her my friend :3
And I think that’s it. ^^ I don’t think I forgot anyone. Hope you all have an amazing New Years…and here’s to an even better 2010!!

- I’m not sure how I found his work, but this guy has got some absolutely fantastic, quirky stuff. Some of the landscapes he comes up with…I just don’t know how he does it. It was hard to pick which one to feature, but I love this piece in particular…the colors and the concept of the bottles melting away. Go give ‘im a good look, he’s sure worth it! 8D

Another one that was extremely hard to pick from. Nana’s got some GREAT stuff, and she’s got an even more wonderful personality. A mistress of digital AND traditional art, I stumbled across her artwork when looking for some Repo stuff. This one really caught my eye with the red, orange and yellow hues, and the shine on the cross...so realistic! XD Go give her a look, she totally deserves it!
