Had the urge to draw some Arroo. ^____^ I've neglected them for a while. Watercolors still remain a challenge for me. -.- You wouldn't BELIEVE the sheer number of coats on Roux's skintone. I always go waaaaaaay too dark...and I rely, to a degree, on my first inking job's smears for a bit of unnecessary shading, but it really just darkened things way too much this time around. So thinks were a bit skewed in the way of color.

BUT. In the face of my photoshop dilemma/ not really knowing how to use Corel that well, I turned to an old-standby program I love to fix the levels and such...GIMP. Really, it is a great program to start out on if you're looking for a free download. Has all the basics photoshop does too. ^.^

Anyway, a little story behind this pic. Roux, like most of the DBZ warriors, has PTSD...Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, resulting in horrific recurring nightmares. Most of Roux's focus on his days on the E.I.F. base where he was experimented on as an "alien child," also the source of most of the scars in this pic. The way I see it, he sat bolt upright in a cold sweat, screaming loud enough to wake his irate bedmate... The lovely, understanding Arta. (taste the sarcasm! XD)

The really tough part here was Arta's expression. I always try to present her as contradictory in her emotions towards Roux...both secretly loving him while presenting the front that she can't stand him, hence her both rubbing his side and yanking his hair at the same time. Her right hand turned out a bit small for my liking. >.> If no other part of her behaved, at least her hair did for once, the half you can see. ^.^

She does love him. Deep down. XP Right Lu? (surprise, btw )
